Moving from Surviving to ThrivingThis parenting gig is intense and ever-changing in the best of times, but particularly right now when so much has changed for both parents and kids. I believe you and your child are doing your best and I start this work with reminding you of all that you're doing well and that you're the perfect parent for your kid.
My work with parents is collaborative and includes finding practical and meaningful strategies that are rooted in attachment and developmental research. We often take a look back at your own childhood and explore the challenges you might have faced and and whether they are showing up as tricky spots with your own kids as well as the many strengths you bring to your parenting experience. Parenting sessions often include normalizing child development and exploring themes of connection, empathy and emotional regulation/co-regulation. Offering empathy is the fastest way to connect and re-connect with your child and when they feel connected they are most likely to take your lead. Emotional regulation is essential to experiencing empathy and when we're regulated we're at our best as parents and in the best position to help our kids regulate their own big feelings. I would love to work with you to ease the challenges you're facing and move from surviving to thriving as a parent. |
